It's unbelievable the amount of benefits Physical activity has on your child!

As you’ll know being a parent of a toddler, children have high levels of energy that seems to never end!

One great way to channel this energy is through physical activity which is also critical to a child’s physical and mental growth.

Did you know children who are physically active tend to do better in school, have longer attention spans, and have fewer behavioural problems.

Amazing!

But that’s not it, Physical activity benefits toddlers by;

  • Developing strong bones

  • Developing gross and fine motor skills

  • Builds strength, endurance, and flexibility

  • Builds confidence

  • Decreases stress levels

  • Improves social skills

  • Improves balance and coordination

  • Improves concentration

  • Improves sleep

According to the chief medical officers guidelines….

Toddlers should be active for at least 90 minutes a day. When awake, they shouldn’t be inactive for more than an hour at a time.

Toddlers are naturally active and generally are walking, running, kicking, and throwing, so it’s vital to provide them with plenty of opportunities to learn and hone these motor skills while using that natural energy.

Activities should use gross motor skills, which means using their major muscles in body parts like their legs and arms to do things like run, jump, spin, and climb. Toddlers are just beginning to learn these movements, so give children plenty of practice with them through physical activities and games.
